SHILLONG: The ward commissioner of Shillong Cantonment Board and the vice president of Bhartya Janata yuva Morcha(BJYM), Vikash Gupta has slammed the State Government over the  lack of supply of kerosene in South Shillong constituency.
Speaking to media persons on Saturday, Gupta said that it has been more than two months since kerosene has been supplied in the area.
Stating that many people in Jhalupara and nearby areas still belong to middle class and BPL families, the shortage is causing families a lot of inconvenience. He added it is not only the people of South Shillong but the entire town is still dependent on kerosene for various needs.
“When there is shortage in power supply or LPG, everybody complains but no one complains where there is shortage of kerosene,” he told reporters.
He said that he has taken up the matter with the Supply department but so far, there has been no response from the concerned authorities.
