Druma Sandruma lift Super Division trophy

TURA: Druma Sandruma thrashed Maram Football Club with 4-0 goals to lift the Tura Football League trophy in the Super Division match on Saturday at Dikki Bandi Stadium here. Three goals- one in the first half and two more in the second half were scored by Misorsing Marak for Druma Sandruma while another was scored by Jacky Sangma. Tura Football League which consists of three different categories- Division B, Division A and Super Division is being organised by the District Football Association every year for the last four years. Abdul Salam of Maram FC was declared the player of the league. Other titles awarded went to Druma Sandruma players which include Player of the FinalJacky Sangma, Best Forward- Bising Marak and Highest Scorer of the SeriesMisorsing Marak for scoring eight goals. Other title winners included, 2nd Meghalaya Battalion Player, Silrak Marak as Best Goalkeeper and Maram FC’s Rikrak Marak as Best Defender. Project Director of District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) Dikki D. Shira and President of DFA Jasper Marak gave away the trophies and cash prizes to the winners and runners up. On Friday last, Chipakkore Football Club defeated West Balalgre to win the title of Division A. Both the teams will play in the Super Division in the next season. TheDivision A match was witnessed by Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Zenith Sangma. Titles for Division A were given away to Jaksram Marak and Chigrik Sangma of Chipakkore as best goalkeeper and best defender respectively, while Player of the League and final match was given to Silsrang Sangma. Biketo Marak of Friends Wagon as best half, Phillip Marak of Balalgre as best forward and Pilman Marak was declared as the highest scorer for scoring eight goals.
