2 from State detained in Assam with Rs 12 lakh

GUWAHATI: Assam police on Thursday detained two persons from Meghalaya after they were found to possess Rs 12 lakh in cash during a routine check at Azara on the outskirt of the city.
Police said the youth, identified as Punhumlong L Marshillong and Kyntobor Mawsor from Nongstoin in West Khasi Hills district, were travelling in a Bolero, which was also seized.
The source of Rs 12 lakh is being investigated.
