Shillong Jail wardens deprived of salary, ration pay

SHILLONG: Wardens and Naiks of the armed branch serving at Shillong Jail have not got payment for March as well as other necessities.
A warden at Shillong Jail said there are 50-60 recruits who joined the service in March this year and they have alleged that they did not get the March salary although they have received payments for the succeeding months.
“Uniforms, torchlights, warm clothes had to be borne by them. Moreover, there was no ration pay,” the warden said.
When contacted an official said that he is not willing to comment on the matter.
