Body found hanging
On January 6, one unidentified male body was found hanging from a tree near Gate Rim at Old GS Road, Mawiong, Shillong. Cadaver was sent to CH Shillong for Post mortem examination.
Accidents
On January 7 around 12 AM, a Chevrolet Enjoy car (ML-05P-2794) driven by one Khrawkupar Suting (21) dashed against roadside wall at IGP Point, Shillong. As a result, six occupants of the car sustained injuries and were admitted at CH Shillong for treatment.
On January 7 at around 7.20 AM, a mini bus (AS-01-FC-6798) driven by one Raju knocked down one pedestrian namely, Khrip Suting (81) of Mawriang village. Victim sustained injuries and was shifted to PHC Pongtung where the attending MO declared him brought dead. Necessary formalities were observed and the matter is under enquiry.
TV set stolen
One Shephali A Sangma lodged a complaint that between January 3 to 6, unknown miscreants stole one TV set from her quarter at MNREDA Complex, Mawpat, Shillong.
Arson
One Aimon Massar of Laitkyrhong village (EKH) lodged a complaint that on January 5 around 2 AM, her husband namely, Esporlang Nongspung (39) threatened her and their children with dire consequences and also set fire to a potato storehouse. Police arrested the accused.
FIR on stone pelting at SBI
Branch Manager of SBI Kharkutta Branch (NGH) lodged a complaint that on December 13 at about 12.30 AM, unknown miscreants pelted stones at the bank.
