16 houses gutted in Itanagar fire

Itanagar: Sixteen houses were redyced to ashes in separate incidents of fire in West Siang district, police officials said on Wednesday.
Seven dwellings were burnt down at Ngomdir Village on Tuesday.
In another incident at Gour Hill area at Aalo, six units of semi RCC barracks and three OBT barracks were gutted on Tuesday.
The barracks which belonged to the department of hydro power were occupied by the employees of the department.
However, no loss of life was reported in both the incidents.
Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Wednesday issued directives for immediate relief for the aggrieved and to provide relief and assistance as soon as possible.
“Instructions have been issued to the department of disaster management to provide adequate relief to the victims”, the chief minister said.
Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Pema Khandu also directed the district administration in those districts to extend assistance to the victims for relief and rehabilitation, an official release said on Wednesday. (PTI)
