MDC urges youths not to lose hope

Jowai: The five-day residential Youth Leadership Training and Community Development Programme that was organised by the Society of Urban and Rural Empowerment (SURE) came to a close at Moosakhia village on Friday.
The programme was inaugurated by D.M. Wallang ADC West Jaintia Hills District on January 23. It was sponsored by the district office of Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Jowai and over forty youths from different parts of West Jaintia Hills took part.
Speaking at the function local MDC Moonlight Pariat urged the youth to aim high in life and encouraged them to engage in agriculture and farming activities and not to lose hope if they do not get a government job.
The participants were handed certificates by the Chief Guest at the end of the programme.
Others present were Darshon Thiate, D. Mohrmen, B. Chakraborty, Realsing Muksor and the meeting was chaired by H.H. Mohrmen.
They also organised a Republic day celebration.
It is also the first time that the national flag was hoisted in the village.
