Mukul R-Day message on Purno’s award

SHILLONG: Chief Minister Mukul Sangma has expressed his happiness after Centre named former Lok Sabha speaker Purno Agitok Sangma for Padma Vibhushan, the second highest civilian honour recetly in New Delhi.
Speaking to media persons on the occasion of Republic Day celebrations, the Chief Minister said that P.A. Sangma was a tall leader from North East.
“He made his presence felt while holding several important positions,” Sangma said.
The Chief Minister also said that Purno A. Sangma has articulated the sentiments of people belonging not only from Meghalaya but the sentiments of the entire region and the tribals.
