SHILLONG: The State Government has decided to engage Meghalaya Transport Corporation (MTC) to run the inter-state bus terminus (ISBT) in Tura.
Sources said the Government is close to finalising the modalities, like revenue sharing pattern and staff management, of the bus terminus to be run by MTC and a notification will be issued shortly.
The West Garo Hills district administration will meet local transporters’ bodies for feeder service as the bus terminus is located around 6km from Tura.
The Centre had given Rs 45 crore for the ISBT project that covered 90 per cent of the cost. The remaining 10 per cent was borne by NBCC.
The terminus will accommodate 50 buses plying to and from all corners of the State to Tura.
