SHILLONG: Apropos to the article entitled “NERCORMP sustainable farming phase III to begin soon” appeared on page 10 on Monday, the following clarification is made on behalf of IFAD India Country office.It is clarified that, Rasha Omar, Country Representative, IFAD India, in her interview on January 30, did not say that “NERCORMP is committed to combating the problem of farmer suicide”. On the contrary, she had mentioned that, for farmers’ suicide, the state governments of Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra had requested IFAD support to address the farmers’ distress in selected drought prone areas.
