SHILLONG: As many as 50 job card holders in a village under Sohiong are yet to receive their wages for the last three years as per the reply to the queries under RTI Act.
Though the money has been released by the BDO of the Mawphlang C&RD block, the job card holders of Kynroh Synrang village under Sohiong constituency are yet to get their wages. A total of Rs 87,000 is yet to be disbursed to the job card holders.
The reply to the RTI query revealed that Rs 43,500 each was released in cheques having number 251642 and 512577 on November 19, 2013 and March 31, 2014 respectively to the Senior Post Master, Shillong GPO.
The money was meant to clear the pending wages for construction of roads in Kynroh Synrang  village.
Following this, the village employment council of Kynroh Synrang earlier on May 12, 2015 had written to the Superintendent of Post Office on the delay in releasing the wages, but in vain.
Concerned over the matter, the CSWO president Agnes Kharshiing asked the CBI to register a case and start inquiry into the matter as the post office falls under its jurisdiction.
