Sputnik thump Malki in Super Division match

SHILLONG: TNT Sputnik defeated Malki CC by nine wickets in the Shillong Cricket League Super Division match played at cricket ground, Polo on Thursday. Electing to bat first Malki were bundled out for 67 runs in 17 overs in which Solu Momin contributed 13 runs off 18 balls. Sputnik’s Swarajeet Das and Aditya Singhania picked up three wickets each. In reply, Sputnik easily chased the target losing one wicket and scored 69 runs in 6.1 overs. Chaman Pushp top scored with 39 runs off 19 balls. Bicky Sah took the only wicket for Malki. TNT Sputnik had recently returned after participating in a cricket tournament in Mangaldoi, organised by Bud Cricket Club. The bud challenge cricket is widely accepted as the most competitive and the best organised tournament in Assam. Sputnik had put up a good performance defeating the likes of Ace Club and Guwahati Town Club, but lost in the quarter finals. TNT Sputnik has been travelling and participating in almost all the major cricketing tournaments in Assam

State level adventure camp in city concludes

SHILLONG: The State Level Adventure Training Camp concluded on February 7 at Mynsain Community Hall, Upper Lumparing in the presence of K S Sawian, Headman of Upper Lumparing who was the chief guest on the occasion. The camp was organised by the Meghalaya Rock Climbing and Mountaineering Association (MeRCMA)Shillong. The objective of the two-day training camp was to inculcate the spirit of adventure, discipline and fraternity among the youth. A total of 20 young enthusiasts including five girls from around the State were trained by instructors from MeRCMA in various adventure sports like rock climbing, rappelling, flying fox, jummaring, Basic leadership programme, Rope knots, and a four-hour day trekking. It may be mentioned that the camp was inaugurated on February 6 by ER Khongsngi, President of Arcadian Nature-Sports Guild (ANG), who is also a Principal of Shechem English School, Shangpung.
