Technology cum national productivity week held in Tura

SHILLONG: West Garo Hills Additional Deputy Commissioner A.B.D Shira inaugurated the ‘Technology Week cum National productivity Week’ organised by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, ICAR, on the KVK campus, as chief guest Tura on February 13.
Shira appreciated the KVK for doing wonderful job for the farmers of Garo Hills and advised the farmers to take the benefit of the existence of the KVK in the district.
As many as 62 farmers participated in the programme. Two innovative cashew nut farmers were awarded for their innovativeness in cashew farming. Improved technologies were displayed in the stall in the form of posters, processes and products. Others attending the programme were A. Chaturvedi, Dean, College of Home Science, T. Samajdar, Senior Scientist and Head of the KVK and the extension officers from various line departments.
