Vote on account of over Rs 76 cr tabled

SHILLONG: Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) CEM P.N Syiem tabled a ‘vote on account’ of over Rs 76.73 crore for various departments and functions of the Council during the budget session of the council on Monday.
Syiem said that Rs 76,73,50,820 vote on account was tabled, since the Executive Committee was unable to come up with a full budget for the year 2017-18 as the receipts and expenditure of the year 2016-2017 will be accounted till March this year.
The proposed expenditure budget is aimed at taking care of the expenses of the Council for the months of April-June.
The expenditure budget has proposed to set aside funds for the salaries of members of the Council, officers, judges, staff of various departments of the KHADC and retired employees.
The budget also includes the proposed expenditure for developmental activities and other functions taken up by the Council.
The full budget of the Council for the year 2017-18 will be presented in the month of June.
