Accidents
On February 23, a truck heading towards Silchar from Guwahati overturned on a turning when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The incident happened at Puriang under Mawryngkneng Block, East Khasi Hills District.The driver, Pradeep Das (26 years/M) sustained minor injuries and was administered first aid at the scene by the 108 Emergency Service Ambulance based at Mawryngkneng.

On February 22, a motorbike (AS01 BQ – 9971) heading towards Byrnihat collided with a Maruti Eco (ML10 A – 8710) which was coming from Nongpoh at Umdu under Umling Block in Ri Bhoi.The driver and the motorist sustained injuries.The 108 Emergency Service Ambulance based in Byrnihat helped in shifting the motorist, Thangdi Akbang (26years/M) and the driver of the Eco, Prosperwell Ranee (19years/M) to Nongpoh Civil Hospital. Thangdi Akbang was later shifted to Shillong Civil Hospital by the same ambulance.
Bodies recovered
On February 23, a body of Ginus Marbaniang (50) of Laitkynsew  was recovered  from Madan Seng Khasi, Sohra. Necessary formalities were observed and the cadaver was sent  to the hospital for PM examination and the matter is under enquiry.
On February 22, a body of Rijied Singh Lawai (35) was recovered from Mawiong Sung cultivation area in East Khasi Hills.
ATM fraud
On February 21, Daniel Mawlong received an anonymous phone call, wherein the caller identified himself as Rohit Kumar and claimed to be an owner of ATM Company from Mumbai and asked about his ATM details.He lodged a complaint that he received an SMS informing him that Rs 18000 has been debited from his account.
