Govt puts ceiling on income declaration

SHILLONG: The state government on Friday tabled the rule related to declaration of income by public servants in the Assembly as per the Lokayukta Act, but not before fixing a ceiling on the amount to be declared.
The rule, quoting section 46 of the Lokayukta Act, said the competent authority may, for reasons to be recorded in writing, exempt in accordance with the provision to section 46, a public servant from filing the information in respect of any asset, if the value of such asset does not exceed four months basic pay of the public servant or Rs 2 lakh, whichever is higher.
