SHILLONG: RTI activist Curtis Rani has filed a complaint against the Syiem of Hima Nonspung and his joint secretary, Philemon Kharmyndai, alleging that they have instructed a group of miscreants to demolish his house that was under construction at Mawkneng village under Sohiong in East Khasi Hills district on Friday night.
Sohiong is represented by Home Minister HDR Lyngdoh.
Rani had filed an RTI seeking information from Hima Nongspung about its functioning and collection of money at the toll gate at Sohiong.
The Syiem allegedly ordered the headman of Mawkneng to tell Rani to choose between the RTI and his house. The hearing on the Right to Information is scheduled for March 10, said the activist.
The hearing has been called by the 1st appellate authority of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council since there was no reply to his Right to Information application.
