SWKH schools asked to choose e-transfer of salary

SHILLONG: School managing committees in South West Khasi Hills have been asked to transfer salaries of teachers to their bank accounts instead of paying in cash.
The project director of SSA State Education Mission Authority Meghalaya (SSA-SEMAM), Ambrose Ch Marak, has directed W. Biam, the district mission coordinator of SSA-SEMAM Mawkyrwat, to transfer teachers’ salary to the accounts of school managing committees (SMCs), said the Meghalaya SSA Schools Association.
SMCs in Ranikor and Mawkyrwat blocks have also been included.
Teachers from South West Khasi Hills under the banner of All Meghalaya SSA School Teachers’ Association had demanded payment through banks to avoid delays, while complaining that salaries were often delayed because managing committees pay them in cash after deductions.
