SHILLONG: PWD (Roads) Minister Martin Danggo said the detailed project report (DPR) for the upgradation of Nongstoin-Rambrai-Kyrshai road up to the Meghalaya-Assam border will be submitted again.
In reply to a question by HSPDP’s K.P Pangniang, Danggo said the DPR was submitted by Gurgaon-based Holtec Consulting Pvt. Ltd but it was sent back after verification and scrutiny. The department’s observation was that landowners from zero point to 500 metres approached the deputy commissioner and requested for re-alignment. The consultant is yet to address it.  Danggo assured that the final DPR will be submitted by this month.
Borghat-Sonapur road
In reply to another question by HSPDP’s Ardent Basaiawmoit, the PWD Minister said while the first 15 km of Borghat-Sonapur Road has been blacktopped, the 16-50 km stretch is kutcha road and from 51 km to the remaining 60 km, blacktopping was carried out.
Basaiawmoit pointed out that since the area is close to Bangladesh, border residents are at the mercy of the Bangladeshis and the black-topping of the remaining portion should be carried out at the earliest.
The Minister assured that the proposal will be examined.
