BSF skips Holi to respect CRPF martyrs

SHILLONG: The Border Security Force troops of Meghalaya Frontier did not celebrate Holi on Monday as mark of respect and tribute to 12 CRPF personnel who were killed by Naxals in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh.
The BSF, in a statement on Monday said that in the hour of sorrow to pay homage to the martyrs of CRPF at Sukma, the troops decided not to celebrate Holi this year. P. K. Dubey, IG Meghalaya frontier expressed his condolences to the martyrs and condemned the maoist attack describing it as a cowardly act. He also extended condolences to the bereaved families.
The sister forces like CISF, ITBP, and SSB expressed their solidarity with the country’s largest paramilitary forces and announced that they too will not be celebrating the festival of colours in their respective establishments.
