TURA: Bringing an end to the controversy over the school managing committee (SMC) of Nandirchar Muktab SSA UP School in South West Garo Hills where the former head cum secretary has been challenging the existing SMC’s right to function, an official source has confirmed its authenticity and said that the SMC was formed by following the required guidelines.
Former head cum secretary of the school, Md Shahazaman Miah had staked claim to his earlier post alleging that he was unfairly removed without any kind of prior intimation. He had also claimed that the new SMC was formed illegally by certain vested interests.
However, the official revealed that the new SMC was formed after Miah was removed on public demand as his post was a non-sanctioned one as well as for his irregularity to attend to his duties.
According to the official, the SMC now functions under Abdul Baten as president, Sona Miah as secretary, Nokma/Gaonbura and other parent and guardian representatives.
