SHILLONG: The United Democratic Party (UDP) has expressed concern over the delay in completion of the much talked about road from Resubelpara to Mendipathar in North Garo Hills that is being constructed using German technology.
In a statement to the media, UDP joint secretary Anand Marak said the road needs metalling and black-topping.
The road was half complete two years ago before the ABDK Sobha was held in Resubelpara but was left unattended by contractors, the party said.
Marak said with the rain, the road has turned into a nightmare for drivers and travellers alike and there is an urgent need for its immediate completion.
According to UDP, compared to other districts in Garo Hills, North and South Garo Hills districts are neglected.
