Misappropriation of over Rs 50 lakh in All Saints’ school

SHILLONG: The secretary of the Diocese Church of North East India, Donald Ingty has accused the office staff of All Saints’ school in the city of misappropriating students’ fees to the tune of Rs 53.93 lakh.
In his complaint, Ingty stated that the management committee of the school detected discrepancies in the number of students in the audited statement which is substantially lower to that in the attendance register.
“On scrutinising the collection of fees from the students, it was found that Rs. 53, 93,621 collected as fees was not deposited in the bank,” Ingty said and added that five persons– F.G. Daimari, the accountant, Supriyo Biswa, the assistant accountant, Rishot Shanpru, Banteibah Niangti and Dhurbajeet Dey, employed by the school may have misappropriated the amount.
