U-18 I-League: Reds to play Tata
Football Academy on April 28
Shillong: Shillong Lajong Juniors will face off Tata Football Academy in their opening game of the U-18 I-League final round on April 28 in Kolkata. The Junior Reds advanced to the final round from the Shillong-Guwahati Zone after they finished second in the table with 15 points from eight matches played. The boys won five matches, lost three and scored a total of 11 goals in the qualifying round. Lajong Juniors have been placed in Group B along with Tata Football Academy, FC Pune City and East Bengal. The semifinals of the will be held on May 5 and the final will be held on May 7 in Kolkata.
Wahingdoh Sports Club football trial for senior team
Shillong: Wahingdoh Sports Club will have a trial for the senior Team on April 8 at Polo ground from 9:00am onwards. Interested participants above 18 years can take part in the trial and may contact the club’s president or secretary for more information.

Gorkha Patshala register wins
Shillong: Bhanu Bhakta Secondary School defeated Jail Road Boys’ School by three wickets in the inter-school senior category game played at cricket ground, Polo on Wednesday. Being put to bat first, Jail Road Boys’ School scored 124 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 22 overs in which Saurav Deb scored 20 runs off 16 balls. For Bhanu Bhakta, Prafula Patar picked up three wickets. In reply, Bhanu Bhakta Secondary School scored 126 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 18 overs. Caine Damon was the top scorer of the match with 45 runs off just 22 balls. Bikash Mahato picked up two wickets for Jail Road Boys’ School. In another senior category match, Gorkha Patshala Higher Secondary School defeated B K Bajoria School by seven wickets. Electing to bat first, B K Bajoria were bundled out for 83 runs in 17.1 overs in which Siddharth Kumar Singh scored 33 runs off 33 balls. For Gorkha Patshala, Amit Kumar picked up four wickets. In reply, Gorkha Patshala Higher Secondary School chased down the target with ease and scored 84 runs losing three wickets in 13.3 overs. Mukesh Ray scored 25 runs off 18 balls. For B K Bajoria Chandra Bhusan Tiwari picked up two wickets.
