Tender Child, St. Edmund’s win in inter-school cricket

SHILLONG: Tender Child School defeated Buddha Vidya Niketan School by 116 runs in the inter-school cricket tournament at cricket ground, Polo on Thursday. Electing to bat first, Tender Child School scored 170 losing nine wickets in 25 overs. Ramesh Sharma and Bikash Shah scored 25 runs and 24 runs respectively for Tender Child School. For Buddha Vidya Niketan School, Suraj Sharma and Vivek Chettri picked up two wickets each. In reply, Buddha Vidya Niketan School were bundled out for 54 runs in 13.5 overs in which Suraj Sharma scored 15 runs off 25 balls. For Tender Child School, Bikash shah and Pankaj Kumar Shah picked up three wickets each. In the second match of the day, St. Edmund’s School defeated Jail Road Boys School by one run. St. Edmund’s school were put into bat first and they scored 121 losing nine wickets in 25 overs in which Nishanta Chakraborty and Vaibhav Agarwal contributed 34 and 25 runs respectively. For Jail Road Boys, Bittu Deb and Jewel Dutta picked up two wickets each. In reply, Jail Road Boys fell short by one run and scored 120 runs losing eight wickets in 25 overs. Imran Ali and Bittu Deb scored 31 runs and 24 runs respectively. Sloke Sarkar  and Mrityunjay Bharali bagged three and two wickets resoectively for St. Edmund’s School.
