SHILLONG: A milestone has been achieved in village electrification where 13,203 villages have been electrified till date under Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojna (DDUGJY).
A statement issued by NEEPCO said on Friday that out of remaining 5249 un-electrified villages, 837 villages are uninhabited. The remaining 4412 un-electrified villages are targeted to be electrified by May next.
