Mock drill on quake preparedness held

NONGSTOIN: A two-day programme on the Incident Response System and Mock Drill for the Sub Division Incident Response Team (IRTs) organised by the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Nongstoin in collaboration with the Office of the Sub- Division (Civil) Mairang was concluded on Friday. The objective of the training programme is to acquaint the different stakeholders of their roles and responsibilities during disaster situations. A mock drill simulating an earthquake of 7.6 on the Richter scale was also conducted at Pyndengumiong locality.
The drill is to test the efficacy of the IRTs of Mairang Sub Division. It evoked much enthusiasm among the participants who expressed satisfaction from the inputs gathered from the drill.
