FKJGP rally on April 11
SHILLONG: FKJGP, central body will release Concept Note on the topic ‘Economic Development in the Society’ as part of the socio economic movement.
A car rally will also be organised on April 11, which will be commenced from Mawlai Motsyiar and culminate at Dinam Hall. The route for the car rally will be Mawlai Motsyiar – Polo – IGP point – Barik point followed by a programme at Dinam Hall.

BJP clarifies
SHILLONG: Apropos the report, “BJP’s East Shillong Mandal cries foul over formation of new committee”, president of 16th East Shillong Mandal, Easter Kharbamon stated that the matter has been settled in March 2017 as clarified by the state party president. She added that the decision to select the candidate for the constituency will be taken by the central leadership.

Mock drills
NONGSTOIN: The District Disaster Management Authority here and the office of the sub-division (civil) at Mairang conducted training sessions on the Incident Response System and mock drills recently. The two-day session was aimed at making all stakeholders aware of their responsibilities during emergency and monitoring the efficacy of the incident response unit.

People’s network across border
SHILLONG: A Seema Chintan Baithak of Seemanta Chetana Mancha, Purvottar was held at the Assembly hotel in Shillong on Sunday. The meeting was attended by National Convener Pradeepan Ji, North East Convener Indra Chapagai, Assam State committee vice president, Sanjay Aditya Singh and State General Secretary Partha Pratim Das. The meeting emphasised on building a people’s network across the international border areas of Meghalaya.

Course on Reference Management
SHILLONG: A short course on PubMed Search and Reference Management for the North Eastern states was organised by the International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease at State Convention Centre, Shillong in partner with QMed Mumbai and NEIGRIHMS on April 8 and 9. The aim of this course is to make researchers aware of systematic literature search and management, which will help them to save time. A total of 20 selected participants attended the course including doctors from eastern part of India. The resource persons were Ajay Kumar, Srinath Satyanarayana, JP Tripathi and Kathirvel S from the Union, New Delhi and Vasumathi Sriganesh from QMed Mumbai. Star Pala, Associate Professor of Community Medicine is the local coordinator from NEIGRIHMS for this course.
