2 Nagaland students killed in road mishap in Punjab

Phagwara (Pb): Two students from Nagaland were killed and another from Chhattisgarh was injured when their motorcycle was hit by a vehicle at Hargobindnagar crossing on national highway 1 here, police said on Monday.
While Ausam (20), a BSc student of Lovely Professional University (LPU), succumbed to her injuries on Sunday, another injured youth identified as Yopita (24) died on Monday, City SHO Sukhpal Singh said. Yopito was the former student of LPU.
The body was handed over to his family members after post-mortem. Nikhil Chaudhary of Raipur in Chhattisgarh had sustained minor injuries in the mishap.
The accident occurred when they were on their way to the university. Ausam’s body was handed over to her family members after post-mortem at a civil hospital here. Singh said a case under relevant sections of IPC, including 304-A (causing death by negligence), was registered against an unknown driver. (PTI)
