Shillong: Laban Bengalee Boys Higher Secondary School (LBBHSS) defeated Tender Child School by 16 runs in the inter-school cricket tournemant at cricket ground in Polo on Thursday. Electing to bat first, Laban Bengalee Boys scored 136 runs losing nine wickets in 25 overs. In reply, Tender Child School scored 120 runs losing nine wickets in 25 overs. RAMESH SHARMA of Tender Child School was the top scorer of the match with 34 runs off 40 balls. In the second match, Kausar Ali (129) scored a brilliant century to lead Fairyland High School to 153-run win against Buddha Vidya Niketan Secondary School. Being put to bat first, Fairyland High School posted a mammoth total of 2258 runs losing just one wicket in 25 overs. Buddha Vidya Niketan Secondary School succumbed to the pressure of huge total and were bundled out for 75 runs in 17.1 overs. Fairyland High School’s Kausar Ali made 129 runs off just 80 balls, while Prateek Haritwal and Manibhusan Thakur picked up three and two wickets respectively.
