SHILLONG: The North East has yet another feather in its hat of achievements in the fashion world as Shillong lady Rashmi Uppal has bagged the second runner-up crown at the Mrs India 2017 Queen of Substance.
Though from Shillong, Uppal represented Delhi.
Uppal said it was a matter of “great joy for her to be selected in the pageant” and that she owed this success to the city she grew up.
“I started out by working as a child artist for All India Radio in Shillong. I also worked as an anchor for many events. I had participated in beauty pageants earlier and won the titles of Miss Fresher in college and Miss North East as second runner-up,” she added.
