SHILLONG: With the intervention of the High Court of Meghalaya, the State Government has reduced the rates of High Security Registration Plates (HSRP).
During the hearing of the PIL in this regard, the court was informed that the offer of the contractor for reduction in HSRP rates has been considered and accepted by the government on Thursday. Additional senior government advocate K. Khan has produced a copy of the letter of acceptance issued by the government before the court.
“It goes without saying that with such an offer having been accepted by the Government of Meghalaya, the rates for High Security Registration Plates will stand reduced with immediate effect,” the court said.
The matter will come up for hearing on June 2.
