Kaziranga rhino killed, horn cut by poachers

Guwahati: Poachers killed a male rhino and took away the horn in Kaziranga National Park (KNP) in Assam where the forest personnel recovered the carcass of the rhino on Friday night from Kartika chapori (isle) at Agaratoli Range of the park last night.
The Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) of Kaziranga National Park (KNP), Rohini Ballav Saikia informed that the poachers who were suspected to be sneaked into the part from the northern side crossing the River Brahmaputra, cut away the horn after killing the rhino.
It happened to the second rhino to be killed by poachers in the national park and UNESCO World Heritage Site so far this year.
