NEW DELHI: Meghalaya Chief Minister Mukul Sangma and his West Bengal and Delhi counterparts Mamata Banerjee and Arvind Kejriwal skipped the NITI Aayog meeting on Sunday and instead sent their representatives.
The governing council of NITI Aayog, headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, discussed the government’s 15-year Vision Document. Around 30 chief ministers participated in the meeting.
The meeting will also discuss the strategy over the next seven years and a three-year action plan.
NITI Aayog Vice Chairman A. Panagariya said, “Team India NITI has been working very closely with the States and issues concerning them to take the country forward.”
Besides, a presentation on Goods and Services Tax (GST), which is being expected to be rolled out by July 1, 2017, will be given to the chief ministers, Panagariya added. (UNI)
