Bhubaneswar, Apr 25 (UNI) A 23-year old lion in the Nandankanan Zoo died this afternoon due to old age.
Nandankanan Zoo Deputy Director Jayant Das said the lion named Laxman died in his chamber at about 1530 hours today due to old age problem.
He said, Laxman was born inside the Zoo on May 13,1994.
The lion, Mr Das said, had reduced feed since last one week and stopped taking food for last two days.
With the death of Laxman, the population of lion in the Zoo has reduced to 14 which included six male, seven female and one child.
