CRPF man held for taking money from truckers

SHILLONG: A CRPF personnel was arrested for conniving with dalals to allow passing of coal trucks without payment of government royalty and taxes in Ri Bhoi.
SP Ramesh Singh has informed that the CRPF constable, Gajen Saikia, has been arrested for conniving with dalals in lieu of money to allow passing of coal trucks without payment of government royalty and taxes. According to Singh, a coal truck (AS 01 DD 4885) was detained on Saturday and its driver and handyman were arrested from breaking police naka after a chase. On investigation it was found that the truck driver, constable Saikia and some dalals were involved. Police investigation is on to arrest the others involved in the case.
