UDP Ranikor youth wing names its candidate for 2018 polls

SHILLONG: The UDP Youth Wing Ranikor Circle has backed Pius Marwein to be the party’s candidate from the constituency in the 2018 Assembly election.
The youth wing of the regional party said that the decision to back Marwein was taken at the general council meeting which was held at Nongnah on March 25.
In a statement to the press, the youth wing stated that general secretary of UDP Ranikor Circle, G.G Bung Snaitang submitted Marwein’s name to the general secretary and president of UDP South West Khasi Hills District on March 30.
Later the candidate’s name was referred to the president and general secretary of the UDP’s central body on April 17.
