KSU demands relief for hailstorm hit

NONGSTOIN: The KSU Riwiang Area Unit on Monday demanded the West Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner to immediately release the relief fund for the victims affected by the hailstorm that hit the area on Friday night.
Following an inspection of the affected villages which include Tiniang, Klangrin, Siangra and Thynri, on Saturday, the KSU said that all the people affected by the hailstorm are economically disadvantaged and require immediate government support.
The KSU informed that in Tiniang village out of 70 households, roofs of 40 were completely damaged by the hailstorm. The KSU urged the DC to speed up the release of relief funds.
