One held for extorting truckers in SGH

SHILLONG: Police have arrested one person for extorting money from trucks in a village in South Garo Hills. On the night of May 7, residents of Siju A’dugre village apprehended one Rakesh R Marak (32 yrs) for extorting money from coal trucks while five of his associates fled from the scene. Marak was handed over to Police. A toy pistol was recovered from his possession and a vehicle used by the miscreants (ML-08B-7303) was also seized.
