SHILLONG: The FKJGP Mawdatbaki unit, Mawlai, has warned the tourist vehicles plying with an Assam registration, who are doing business by ferrying passengers to the state to not indulge in reckless driving. Aldrin Shangpliang, president of FKJGP alleged in a press statement that tourist drivers would often drive at a fast pace which leads to accidents.
“Drivers would often overtake the vehicles and collide with two-wheelers. They want to complete their trip and get to Assam as fast as they could,” he said.
The organisation has urged the district authorities to intervene in the matter so that such cases of accidents do not take place.
