UTP escapes from Shillong Civil Hospital

SHILLONG: An under trial prisoner gave police the slip when he was brought to the Civil Hospital here for medical examination on Wednesday morning.
The UTP, Shankar Ghosh, escaped around 11.30am.
Police will conduct an inquiry into the incident and if required departmental action will be taken against erring cops, a senior police official said.
Meanwhile, another accused Shiningstar Pala, a resident of Wahiajer village in West Jaintia Hills, who had escaped from Ialong Civil Hospital on Monday morning was re-arrested from Nartiang.
