World Environment Day in East Khasi Hills

SHILLONG: The ‘To Nangroi Society for Socio-Economic Justice’ (TNSSEJ) celebrated World Environment Day on June 2 under the theme ‘Green Environment, the Source of Blessings’ at Unitarian Lower Primary School, Tynring in East Khasi Hills.
Speaking as the chief guest, Pyniaid Sing Syiem, MDC Sohryngkham Constituency, highlighted on solid waste management and waste segregation, which will leave the environment clean.
He mooted the idea of setting up a children’s park to plant trees so that the future generation will be familiar with tree plantation and to keep the environment clean.
Tree plantation was also part of the programme.
