BSF seizes cattle laden truck in GH

SHILLONG: The BSF troops deployed at Baghmara in South Garo Hills noticed a suspected Ashok Leyland Truck on hill road which were moving towards Baghmara- Rongra side.
The BSF party stopped the vehicle and resultantly driver and co-driver managed to escape taking advantages of hilly and forest area.
The BSF troops searched the vehicle and recovered 19 cattle worth Rs. 1.5 lakh. The owner of the vehicle is identified to be Ochaddi Sheikh from Assam.
The BSF claimed that it had seized 249 cattle, and contraband items worth more than Rs. 82 lakh, while being smuggled out from India to Bangladesh on the International Border along Meghalaya during this week.
