TURA: The 25 years of the creation of Baghmara district was celebrated on Monday without Chief Minister Mukul Sangma though he was the chief guest.
The chief minister who was due to participate in the celebrations had to cancel his helicopter trip owing to bad weather. The pathetic road condition in Baghmara further dashed all hopes of Sangma taking part in the celebrations.
South Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner Shella N. Marak conveyed the greetings from the chief minister and his message to the people. Sangma’s message was that the Government was committed to addressing the developmental disparities in the district.
