TURA: The head teacher and assistant teacher of Beparipara Lower Primary School in Mahendraganj area of South West Garo Hills have accused a colleague working under a non-sanctioned post of spreading false reports to undermine their position and take over the institution.
Just last week, the assistant teacher in the non-sanctioned post, Aynal Haque, had claimed that the school managing committee (SMC) had appointed himself as the new headmaster in place of Saidul Miah.
He further claimed that the other assistant teacher on contractual basis, Aktar Hussain, had educational documents that were not recognised by the government.
The school is run under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, a central government’s flagship programme for achievement of universalization of elementary education. In the wake of the allegations, the school head teacher (headmaster) Saidul Miah has issued a clarification with documentary evidence dismissing the claims of Aynal Haque.
According to the head teacher, he along with Aktar Hussain and complainant Aynal Haque were appointed as head teacher and assistant teachers, respectively, after the establishment of the school in 2001.
When the school was taken under the SSA scheme in 2007 it was made mandatory for the teachers to clear the District Elementary Eligibility Test conducted by MBOSE, Tura.
“As per SSA norms, only those who have passed the test are eligible to teach in SSA schools. Both of us had already cleared the exam way back in 1996 and 2000, respectively,” revealed head teacher Saidul Miah.
He clarified that both, himself and Hussain, were appointed as head teacher and assistant teacher (contractual basis) while Aynal Haque who failed to qualify in the required SSA category from 1 to 3 position was appointed by the then school managing committee as teacher in a non-sanctioned post.
The head teacher has revealed that the school has been without a new SMC since December 2016.
Assistant teacher Aktar Hussain who was accused by Aynal Haque of furnishing fake documents, has also come out with a clarification stating that  he had cleared the Class XII examination from the All India Education Parishad, Guwahati in 2012.
