NEW DELHI: Chief Minister Mukul Sangma on Wednesday dismissed reports about senior leaders deserting the party as “pre-poll kite flying”.
Sangma, who already has a record term in the office, said his government will complete its term.
“Meghalaya has seen a series of unstable governments in its recent history and is now witnessing a durable government which is not only completing its last term but also the present term,” he told The Shillong Times here.
Sangma, who attended opposition presidential candidate Meira Kumar’s nomination filing programme, said the Congress-led Government in Meghalaya has done good work and “that will be its strong point in the coming polls”.
On reports about rumblings in his government and the party, Sangma said he was aware of the disgruntled members.
“Some people are impatient and vying for short-term gains. There is nothing new and people of the State can see through their games and will reply accordingly,” he said.
