Food officer caught taking bribe in MP

Panna (Madhya Pradesh): A junior food officer was caught red-handed taking Rs 20,000 bribe from a salesman for the verification of government ration shop in Panna district of Madhya Pradesh, police said. A team of special Police organization, Lokayukta, caught Naresh Arya while he was accepting the bribe. He was later left with an undertaking. Lokayukta Police Superintendent of Sagar, Sunil Tiwari told IANS on Tuesday, “Junior food officer Naresh Arya demanded Rs 20,000 as bribe from Rajkiran Tripathi, a salesman of a government ration shop in Brajpura, for the verification of his shop. Tripathi filed a complaint against this in the office of the Police Superintendent of Lokayukta (Sagar).” A case was filed against Arya under the Prevention of Corruption Act. (IANS)
