‘Non-NDA support’
BJP has been able to garner support of non-NDA legislators for the presidential poll, sources said.
The party held several meetings in Assam, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and Tripura and evoked a “very good response” as a senior party functionary said.
According to the sources, BJP has obtained support of some AITC MLAs and Congress MLAs in the northeastern states. Out of the seven states in the North East, BJP is in power in Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Manipur.
