NONGPOH: The three anti-railway groups – FKJGP, HNYF and RBYF – will hold a series of public meetings from July 13 to sensitise people about the issues related to the railway project.
The first meeting will be held at the Muda Urban Shopping Complex in Nongpoh in Ri Bhoi, where the railway project was being implemented.
HNYF President GH Kharshanlor said the decision to hold meetings to garner public support against the project was taken in the groups’ last meeting recently.
He also said members of the three organisations had started a non-violent agitation but the Government did not respond to their demand of putting in place a strong mechanism to check influx.
The three pressure groups have urged the public to attend the meeting in Nongpoh to initiate a threadbare discussion on the merits and demerits of the project.
