SHILLONG: The State Co-ordination Committee of Coal Owners, Miners & Dealers Forum (SCCCOMDF) along with the Meghalaya Mine Owners & Exporters Association (MMOEA) has strongly condemned the series of kidnappings that took place in South West Khasi Hills.
In a statement issued here  on Thursday, Sonny L Khyriem, chairman of SCCCOMDF said that the abductions supposedly carried out by Bangladeshi miscreants have disturbed the peace and tranquility in the area giving sleepless nights to the residents.
He said that those directly or indirectly involved with the coal trade are the worst sufferers.
The organization said that the State Government must ensure the safety of people residing in the border areas of South West Khasi Hills and also called for up-gradation of the anti-dacoity camp at Nonghyllam village into a full-fledged police station.
